Microfinances are aimed at providing small individual businesses which constitute more than 80% of business activities in the Cameroonian economy with financial services. Management of UB FINANCE has therefore designed a particular service to serve this market segment. This particular service is an Off-Counters Banking Services (OBS).o
Off-Counters Banking Services
The OBS is a service/product that aims to provide financial services to small members, formal or informal, legal entities or individuals. One of the objectives of this service is to promote the banking of non-banking people in this segment of the Cameroonians. This service shall be provided by Mobile Agents (MA). There are 2 type of OBS offered in UB Finance:
Daily Daily Account(DDA)
- Individuals or petty business traders save daily in this account with the possibility of withdrawing ONLY at month end.
- Transactions from this account are confirmed by an SMS that is sent to the member to alert him/her of the existence of a new transaction in the account.
- Account Passbook is 500 fcfa.
- Account minimum balance is 1,000 fcfa.
- Micro account opened for deposit to facilitate loan reimbursement.
- Amortizable micro loans can be contracted in this account exclusively.
Savings Plan Account(SPA)
Progressive interest bearing savings account that permits members to save regular daily, weekly or monthly amount within a specified period. In other words, this account operates like a personal “NJANGI” between the member and UB Finance. Savings amounts ranges from 500 fcfa.
